Introduction

Bacheng Yangcheng Lake Scenic Area is located in Bacheng Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. The town covers an area of 157 square kilometers, including 115.33 square kilometers of land and 41.67 square kilometers of water. With a permanent population of about 70,000 and a registered population of about 80,000, Bacheng benefits from a strategic location and convenient transportation. It is located 55 kilometers east of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, 100 kilometers from Pudong International Airport, 25 kilometers west of Suzhou Old Town, and 225 kilometers south of Hangzhou. The Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity High-Speed Railway, National Highway 312, Beijing-Ningbo Expressway (G2), Changzhou-Jiaxing Expressway (S5), and Shanghai-Yichang Expressway (S48) crisscross the town.

The scenic area consists of Bajie Park (former Yangcheng Lake Water Park) and Bacheng Ancient Street. Bajie Garden covers an area of 3.79 square kilometers (including 1.2 square kilometers of water), and is an ecological and recreational place centered around crab culture and waterways. The core area of Bacheng Ancient Street is 47,200 square meters. The streets are paved with stone slabs. Ancient buildings in the Late Qing dynasty and the early Republic period stand along the streets, presenting the characteristics of ancient Jiangnan water towns.

The scenic area consistently adheres to the national 3A-level tourist attraction evaluation standards and requirements. It prioritizes needs of tourists, and gradually promotes the construction of tourism brands while improving the supporting functions of the scenic area. In the past three years, the scenic area has received a total of about 1.345 million tourists.
